The mechanical strength and impact resistance of glass also depend to a large extent on the shape and structure of glass surface.Therefore, the surface treatment of glass is one of the important technical means to manufacture high strength lightweight glass containers. The purpose of glass bottle surface treatment is to change the chemical stability of the container surface and eliminate the damage of the glass surface, so as to achieve the purpose of strengthening.The main methods include adding coating, physical strengthening, chemical strengthening, surface acid treatment, plastic coating and so on.
1. Glass bottle coating heat coating.Hot coating is carried out after bottle forming and before annealing.After forming the glass bottle cooling slowly to 500 ~ 600℃, the metal coating agent (such as tin oxide, titanium oxide, tin chloride, etc.) sprayed on the surface of the container, forming a protective film of a certain thickness, enhance the surface strength of about 30%, but also can make the bottle withstand long-term water, water washing.
2. With the cold.Cold coating is after glass bottle annealing, monostearate, polyethylene, oleic acid, silane, silicone or other polymer emulsion spray mist, attached to the glass bottle surface with a certain temperature (bottle temperature depends on the spraying material, about 21 ~ 80°C), forming a protective layer with wear resistance and lubricity. These two are the main ways of coating glass bottles at present.
